Event Mission:

This event will highlight some of Connecticut's most prominent and influential men of color by highlighting their excellence, contributions to their profession and/or community, as well as their influence and personal brand. Every man invited will be wearing their best tailored suit and accessories, similar to the Fashion Flash Mobs in Philadelphia, Houston, and Baltimore. The event's premise is to bring positive media coverage to Connecticut's Black and Brown communities, as both national and local media coverage in the last 2-3 years has frequently captured a lot of negative connotations related to police oppression, gun violence, injustice, and other things like health disparities. We wanted to highlight the fact that men of color are making significant contributions to the state of Connecticut through their professions, businesses, mentorship, volunteerism, and a variety of other personal endeavors.

NBC’s Kyle Jones will be covering this event as well as other local news outlets. This event is organized by “Bron & Noir Society, Blakstok Society & the Urban Professional Network (UPN).

Special thanks to our sponsors Yale University and its Affinity Groups, AVP of Public Safety – Ronnell Higgins, Bladez Barbershop & Henry Couture.
