Join Elizabeth Wise for part two, a continuation of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) awareness and the importance of creating joyous childhood experiences from 12pm to 1:30pm on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, for an in-person film screening and discussion of the Broken Places at the Crim Office.

This will allow you to share your thoughts on this film and ask questions about ACEs and resilience. Participants are welcome to bring their lunch to enjoy during the screening/discussion.

About the Film: BROKEN PLACES explores why some children are severely damaged by early adversity while others can thrive.

"Why does early adversity permanently damage some children while others can thrive? To help answer this question, filmmaker Roger Weisberg dug into his extensive film archive to update a few stories of abused and neglected children he filmed decades ago. Viewers are given a unique time-lapse perspective on how the trauma that these children experienced shaped their lives as adults. Broken Places interweaves its longitudinal narratives with commentary from a few nationally renowned neurobiology and early childhood development experts to illuminate the devastating impact of childhood adversity and the factors that can foster resilience". - Roco Films Educational

Location: Crim Office- 452 Saginaw Street, Flint, MI 48502
