From the moment they take the stage, it's clear that Broken Compass Bluegrass is something different. Their energy is palpable as they weave intricate melodies and harmonize with ease, creating a wall of sound that transports fans to a place where tradition meets innovation!

In the extraordinary space, you can see Grass Valley Museum's history in the columns made from repurposed ship masts, the pressed tin lining of St. Joseph’s Hall, and the walled garden that is the oldest garden in Nevada County.

Children under 12 attend this concert for free.

St. Joseph's Hall is a popular venue for music, dance, and drama. Built in 1894, it is a large room (approx. 3,600 sq. ft. hall floor 40' x 56' plus stage, mini-kitchen, backstage and 2 restrooms). The walls are covered with the original antique raised tin work in a motif of arches and flowers. The majestic hall features an oak hardwood floor, a beautiful stained glass window, and a cathedral ceiling. The chapel has heating and air-conditioning and an additional dressing area and a small kitchen are backstage.
