About this event

Hey, I'm Marley (she/her). Now, if you're like me, you've been scouring the internet for a group of fellow word nerds to meet up with in SW London with little triumph. Then it dawned on me, what if a bunch of us just made one? And here we are.

We'll meet up once every two weeks to workshop each other's writing. There's a full agenda further down if you like. For now, here's answers to some questions you probably have:

I want to come, what do I need to do?

  • Sign up for the event.
  • Bring whatever you like to write in: laptop, paper, phone
  • Send me a piece of writing you'd like to share before the session so I can print it out. (NB: we'll only go through two people's pieces per session)
  • Bring your wonderful self along.

What writing can I bring?

Please prepare pieces or excerpts no more than 1000 words for the group to read. This can be fiction or poetry. We'll go through ways to constructively feedback each other's work.

Do I need to be published?

This group takes being passionate over being published. Maybe we'll all have different goals for our writing but I'm sure we can help each other along the way.

How are you running this group?

I've been part of groups and creative workshops before so I've got a few experiences to draw from to help things mosey along, but the goal is to create a writing community. Together we can all shape a space that leaves you inspired, motivated, and slightly less like you're on ones with a blank sheet of paper trying to figure out what rhymes with orange.

Can't wait to meet you all ✨

House Rules

The backbone of this group is respect. There's no way we can workshop each other's writing without it. Writing challenges you, and explores different perspectives. That's a beautiful thing. But hate will not be tolerated. This will be a safe space and I will do my upmost to protect that.

Any racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, xenophiobia will not be tolderated and will result in me showing you the door.

E`xploration of these themes in writing is welcomed, but the endorsement of them is an absolute no. If you have writing exploring these themes or experiences, please give a content warning ahead of time.

Your local circle of fiction writers to workshop your writing and get inspired. If you're like me, you've been scouring the internet for a group of fellow word nerds to meet up with in SW London with little triumph. Then it dawned on me, what if a bunch of us just made one? And here we are. With bi-weekly meets and the occasional event sprinkled in there, my goal is to create a space for writers to connect and support each other.
