Bristol County Agricultural High School is excited to offer two 4-day sessions of our Summer Academy in 2024. (Session I: July 8-11 and Session II: July 15-18). There are morning sessions and afternoon sessions offered to students entering grade 5-8. There are age restrictions for some sessions. Please read the descriptions on our web site closely. Academy offerings include:

We encourage your student to mix and match your morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) sessions, with no repeating sessions (ex. if signed up for Horsemanship week one, you cannot register for Horsemanship week two as well). All sessions are $175/student with the exception of horsemanship courses which are $225/student (plus processing fees which have allowed us to move to online registration). Refunds are only offered if courses are cancelled.

Every registered participant must have an active physical from a doctor in by May 20, 2024 as well as all of the required forms below. This can be faxed to the school at (508) 669-6747 or mailed to Bristol County Agricultural High School, c/o Summer Academy, 135 Center Street, Dighton, MA 02715 by May 1, 2024.

You also need to submit a copy of your child's physical dated within 12 months of the last day of their week of summer academy.

By completing the application form, parents accept the following statements:

  • I agree to pay full tuition at the time of application and incur all fees associated by Eventbrite.
  • I agree to have all medical forms completed and returned to the academy by May 20, 2024.
  • I understand that my child may not attend an academy until all completed forms and all payments have been received.
  • I authorize Bristol County Agricultural Summer Academies to make, use, publish and reproduce photographs, slides and videos of the student for its records and public relations.
  • I understand the Director of the Agricultural Summer Enrichment Program reserves the right to dismiss a student when in his/her judgment, that student’s behavior interferes with the rights of others, presents a safety risk or the smooth functioning of that activity.
  • I have read and understand registration and the tuition rates for the BCAHS Summer Academies.
  • I accept the following release:

I understand that my child will be participating in the 2024 Bristol Aggie Summer Academy. My child will experience hands-on learning including but not limited to handling multiple species of small animals, farm animals and horses and have time spent outdoors.

Release
I recognize the inherent risk of injury involved in handling live animals generally and in learning to ride in particular. My child has my permission to participate with the school's animals in the Summer Academy. I understand that all safety protocols are in place to support my child’s safety. My child will adhere to any and all safety protocols in place and I voluntarily release BCAHS, its instructors, employees and agents from any responsibility on account of any injury my child may sustain while participating in the activities. I understand that staff members are trained in medical emergencies and that a school nurse will be on site.

Medical Authorization
In the event the above named student requires emergency medical treatment on account of any accident or injury which may occur in connection with any activities at the Bristol Aggie Summer Academy the authorities at BCAHS are hereby given permission and full authority to provide/obtain any necessary emergency medical treatment for the above named student including any necessary transportation to a medical facility.

I agree that an ASTM SEI certified helmet not more than five years old (by manufacturer date stamped on helmet) must be worn and fastened at all times when mounted on horseback. If I chose to bring in my child’s helmet I agree to allow the staff to inspect the helmet. If my child’s helmet is deemed not usable for any reason at the discretion of the instructor, I agree to let my child use a helmet that is provided.

Warning: Under Massachusetts law, an equine professional is not liable for injury to, or death of, a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to Section 2D of Chapter 128 of the Massachusetts General Laws.

In accordance with Massachusetts General Law Chapter 128 Section 2D: an equine professional is not liable for an injury to, or the death of, a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to section 2D of chapter 128 of the General Laws.
