Brightside Bash 2017

Donor funded and volunteer driven since 1986, Brightside works to unite people in clean and green activities to beautify the city and foster community pride.  We believe that a clean and green city promotes a high quality of life, which is deserved by all citizens.Volunteers and community engagement are essential to Brightside's core values.  Our community-wide clean-ups have empowered thousands of volunteers to help remove litter though our city.Brightside promotes sustainability through our long-standing education programs that spread our mission to future generations and prepare for a brighter tomorrow, while our green living program advocates and educates about everyday sustainable living practices.  Our Brightsites and planting projects strengthen and support our native eco-system and tree canopy, while encouraging community involvement, pride in place, and economic development.Trees are the common thread between beautification and sustainability. In alignment with our core values, in 2013 Brightside began collaborating with the Louisville Metro Tree Advisory Commission and theOffice of Sustainability to promote a robust tree canopy community-wide. Trees benefit the city in many ways: by improving air quality, managing storm water runoff, decreasing urban heat, and helping build community pride by providing quality green spaces.Brightside is unique because it functions as a public/private partnership, merging the resources of the Metro government with those of private citizens. Being both a 501(c)3 and a government agency this means that Metro government covers a portion of our administrative expenses and all programs are run entirely on privately donated dollars.Contact ustoday for more information,subscribe to our e-newsletteror get involved.In 2021, Brightside is celebrating keeping Louisville clean and green now for 35 years! Brightside

The Brightside Bash is a fun twist on a traditional gala fundraiser.  The Bash features local bands, a silent auction, raffles, food, and fun!  The event will be held Thursday evening, September 21st. 
The 2017 Bash will feature music from Justin Lewis and Karter Louis & The GOAT Band
The Brightside Bash serves as a fundraiser for the Brightside Foundation.  With the generous donations and contributions from this event Brightside is able to continue to offer our many educational programs, sustainability initiatives, and beautification projects to our community.
