About this event

Bridge of Dreams, Ohio

- CycleNuts Smart-Guided Selfie Bikeway Tour

This tour has some really nice features that all lead to the Bridge of Dreams!

If you are looking to get in a long or short bikeway ride through wooded countryside then move this one to the top of your short list. Here's why - the majority of the route is a rail-to-trail, quite rural, and has a flexible total length with optional starting spots. Most of the tour runs alongside or crosses over three scenic rivers - Mohican River, Jelloway Creek, and Kokosing River - using three rails-to-trails bikeways: Mohican Valley Trail, Kokosing Gap Trail, and Heart of Ohio Trail.

At the tour's turnaround spot is Ohio's famous Bridge of Dreams, which "happens to be the second-longest covered bridge in the state and the third-longest in the nation". The bridge serves as a link for the Amish equestrian community connecting the Holmes County Trail - "the first recreational trail in the country designed to accommodate Amish horse-drawn buggies -to the Mohican Valley Trail. At moments you may be sharing the trail with horse-drawn Amish buggies.

Along the route is a small-town America refreshment stop at a quaint tasty spot. Restroom facilities are conveniently positioned along the bikeway. With numerous scenic vistas and railroad history to take in, this memory making tour often experiences ooh-and-ahh stops along with group and selfie poses.

GO LONG OR GO SHORT

Do it all. Or do half. End to end a beautiful long or short smart-guided bikeway adventure to the Bridge of Dreams in Ohio's Amish country.

Rider's choice! 18 or 40 roundtrip miles on beautiful countryside rail-to-trail bikeways. Both routes are shaded most of the way, are 92% bikeway, and have one hill climb for your bike's climbing gears to reach the tasty stop (there are bike racks trailside to lock bikes to if you choose to walk up the hill to the restaurant without your bike). Your ticket purchase includes both the long and short tour routes.

This is a CycleNuts LoST Tour which is an acronym for Long or ShorT - a CycleNuts group favorite. Because it has two lengths it a LoST tour. How LoST Tours work. The 18 mile and 40 mile routes start at different locations; travel some of the same bikeways; allow both groups (long and short - in case your crew is riding along with you) an opportunity to stop at the same CycleNuts tested and approved tasty spot; and both long and short routes turnaround at the Bridge of Dreams.
