Bria Murphy is a Choreographer, Professional Dancer, Teacher, and Model as well as an American Council on Exercise Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, Weight Management Specialist, and Senior Fitness Specialist. Bria honed her skills by attending dance classes and intensives including, Dance Theatre of Harlem, The Ailey School, and Steps on Broadway. Bria has 20 years of dance training and approximately 9 years of performance experience. Bria attended Coppin State University’s Dance Program in Baltimore where she studied dance and learned to choreograph and teach as she assisted in beginner level dance classes and helped choreograph an alumni piece. Bria used her knowledge and passion for dance and wellness to choreograph and/or perform dance and create dance classes for all ages nationally including Pier Dance at Navy Pier for Chicago Dance Month 2023, Baltimore City and NYC Public Schools, and studios in Baltimore, DC, and NYC. Bria has performed in company shows; festivals including Old Town School of Folk Music’s Choreographers’ Showcase, and fashion shows including Anne Everett Fashion Designs and Nick & Jack Cave’s “The Color Is”; churches; an awards show; and a Bollywood tour. Bria recently established BriaFit Dance & Wellness, LLC, where she merges dance, fitness, and wellness techniques to create a variety of artistic, educational, and recreational services and programs. Bria’s vision is to choreograph thought provoking work that expresses her love for unity, health/wellness; encourages individuals to love themselves; value a healthy/happy lifestyle; and utilize dance to improve their wellbeing and embrace their uniqueness while having fun.
