Breathwork Seminar

Daiyuzenji is a Zen Buddhist temple and community in the Rinzai tradition located on Chicago's North Side. We are an open community from diverse backgrounds, supporting one another in a traditional approach to Zen training. Our mission is to make this practice available to all and foster the preservation of our heritage and traditions within the broader community. Daiyuzenji is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

In this seminar, you will learn a number of various deep breathing patterns as practiced at Daiyuzenji and how you can use them.

Proper use of posture and breath, as well as understanding the key components of the breathing mechanism, are the foundation of a good meditation practice and optimal functioning in all other daily activities.In this seminar, you will learn a number of various deep breathing patterns as practiced at Daiyuzenji and how you can use them to experience:<ul><li>lowered blood pressure and heart rate.</li><li>reduced levels of stress hormones in the blood.</li><li>reduced lactic acid build-up in muscle tissue.</li><li>balanced levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the blood.</li><li>improved immune system functioning.</li><li>increased physical energy.</li><li>increased feelings of calm and well-being</li></ul> Veterans are welcome to attend at no cost.
