Breathwork – Important Information & Contraindications
Breathwork can be a powerful practice that may affect the body both physically and emotionally. While many people benefit from it, there are certain conditions where caution is needed.
Please consult your GP or healthcare professional before attending if you have any of the following:
- Cardiovascular conditions (e.g. heart disease, high blood pressure, history of heart attack)
- Respiratory conditions such as severe asthma
- Epilepsy or a history of seizures
- Pregnancy
- Recent surgery or physical injury
- Glaucoma or retinal detachment
- Severe mental health conditions (e.g. psychosis, schizophrenia, severe PTSD)
- Panic disorders or a history of severe anxiety attacks
- Use of heavy medication that may affect breathing or awareness
During the Session
Some people may experience:
- Light-headedness or dizziness
- Tingling in the body
- Changes in temperature
- Dry mouth
- Emotional release
These are generally normal responses. You are always encouraged to listen to your body, return to a natural breath at any time, and take breaks whenever needed.

This session is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment. By attending, you take responsibility for your own wellbeing and participation.
