Three members of The Shakuhachi Five join with James Nyoraku Schlefer and Kyo-Shin-An Arts for an entrancing evening of contemporary and traditional shakuhachi music featuring solos, duos, trios and a World Premiere quartet by James Nyoraku Schlefer. Relax and enjoy with some of Japan’s finest, young shakuhachi masters and some of the world’s most beautiful music.

Featuring James Nyoraku Schlefer and Japanese Masters Akihisa Kominato, Akihito Obama, and Ken-ichi Tajima.

Kyo-Shin-An Arts is a contemporary music organization with a mission to bring Japanese instruments – specifically koto, shakuhachi and shamisen – to Western classical music. KSA works in partnership with established chamber ensembles, orchestras and great individual performers to bridge two musical cultures.
