Advocacy for Social Justice Talk Story Series
Explore organized efforts and mechanisms for social change

"Breaking the Silence: Unveiling Domestic Violence Myths and Shaping the Future" with Borjana Lubura Ph.D. and moderated by José Barzola

Session:

Join us for an enlightening discussion on domestic violence, workplace/school harassment, in-person/digital stalking, and coercive control. This is an opportunity for personal growth and learning as we delve into the historical context of these issues and their impact on individuals and communities. We will confront the difficult institutional protection services that are often confusing and overwhelming for victims to navigate. Finally, we will explore proactive strategies for prevention and support and hear firsthand accounts from the speaker’s lived experience. The topics of domestic violence, stalking, and harassment are often silenced, leaving victims feeling like they have nowhere to turn. Today, we break those stigmas and empower our communities for a safer future.
