Breaking Our Silence

At Children's Trust we strive to prevent child abuse and neglect and provide continuous support for children through investigation and court proceedings. We help to make kids safer and adults better parents through education.Children’s Trust recognizes that child abuse and neglect are a problem not only for parents and children, but for the entire community.We partner with the professional, business, and volunteer sectors of our community to combine energy and resources in combating and preventing this very serious problem. This comprehensive continuum of services, involving the entire community, was the basis for our formation, and remains the philosophical foundation for our continuation.Children's Trust offers four distinct programs as well as community awareness about child abuse and neglect.  Those four programs include:ChildrenFirst - Focused on child abuse prevention through Speak Up/Be Safe Children's Education, Stewards of Children Adult Education, and Community Awareness.Children's Advocacy Center - Child-centered interview facility, trained forensic interviewers, family advocates, and facilitation of a multidisciplinary team response to child abuse investigations.Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) - Recruiting, training and supervising volunteers who become the eyes and ears for the court and help abused children find their forever homes.Conflict Resolution Center - Assisting families in the crisis of divorce reach peaceful, healthy custody and visitation agreements.Healthy Families - Rooted in the belief that early, nurturing relationships are the foundation for life-long, healthy development.  Interactions between direct service providers and families are relationship-based, designed to promote positive parent-child relationships and healthy attachment, strength-based, family centered, culturally sensitive and reflective.  Designed for parents facing challenges such as single parenthood; low income; childhood history of abuse and other adverse child experiences; and current or previous issues related to substance aubse, mental health issues, and/or domestic violence.
