The National Center for Computer Science Education is a partnership of the Computer Information Systems (CIS) department and the School of Education. The Center champions, researches, and provides equitable computer science education opportunities for K16 students and educators.The National Center for Computer Science Education serves as a national leader for education and research at a critical time when there is significant momentum through the CSforAll movement. CSS is one of less than 10 schools in the country that have both pre- and in-service teacher education in Computer Science and is considered an expert in online computer science (CS) professional development. Learn more about answering and scoring FRQs. Discuss best practices for teaching FRQs. A half day virtual mini-PD  for AP CSA teachers.

This half-day virtual mini-PD is intended for computer science educators who teaching the Advanced Placement Computer Science A (AP CSA) course. Join an experienced CSA teacher to learn about how to answer FRQs and how they are scored at the AP Reading. This workshop will include hands-on activities for participants to try solving and grading sample FRQs. There will also be time for participants to discuss best practices for teaching students about FRQs. Participants who complete the mini-PD may request a certificate of completion. Details will also be shared on how to join full PD for CSAwesome in summer 2023.**This is a live interactive workshop. This mini-PD will not be recorded.**More about the series:The National Center for Computer Science Education is excited to announce that we are offering a Computer Science Workshop Series during the 2022-23 academic year. This will be a series of virtual hands-on workshops for Computer Science educators. Participants will work with trained computer science teachers and facilitators. At this time credit card payment will only be accepted. We reserve the right to cancel the workshop 7 days prior if the minimum number of attendees is not met.
