Voting Is Power (VIP) Coalition

At Breaking Down Barriers, a voter engagement forum hosted by Voting is Power Coalition, you will learn, organize and activate around barriers to voting.
Our keynote speaker Helena Berbano of <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.nonprofitvote.org/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Nonprofit VOTE</A> will facilitate a workshop on how to close the participation gap by reaching disengaged and underrepresented voters through effective messaging.
Then you'll participate in an asset mapping exercise to identify Tulsa's barriers and resources for voter engagement. VIP Coalition will share the barriers to voting and civic engagement we found in our survey (<A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://svy.mk/1ni62eE" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">take the survey here</A>).
Following the forum, League of Women Voters of Tulsa will host an optional voter registration training – anyone who attends will receive a registration drive toolkit to kick-start your efforts!
2016 is an historic election year: we need everyone concerned about low voter turnout, especially people from communities who are underrepresented at the polls, to attend this event.
Breaking Down Barriers is free and open to the public.
