About this event

  • 4 hours

We are thrilled to announce that on 13th June, we will be hosting three of Brazil's most celebrated young artists: London debut shows for dadá Joãozinho and batataboy, as well as a triumphant return for Pedro Fonte. Find out more about each artist below:

dadá Joãozinho

Released on the iconic American label Innovative Leisure, dadá Joãozinho's debut album tds bem Global (2023) marked the young avant-pop artist out as one of Brazil's most innovative new voices and earned him international accolades from the likes of FADER and BBC6 Music. Via an idioim of contemporary R&B, tds bem Global is a heady fusion of experimental textures, juddering electronics and poptimist melodies, underpinned by discernibly Brazilian rhythm and harmony.

batata boy

batata boy is one of Brazil's most exciting young producers, having helmed albums by breakout stars such as Bruno Berle and Castello Branco, and won Electronic Album of the Year at the 2022 Brazilian Music Awards. For his Crypt debut, batata boy joins dadá Joãozinho ahead of the release of his first solo album MAGICLEO Mixtape (quando vê, já foi) on which many of Brazil's biggest stars feature, such as Yung Vegan, Bruno Berle, Jadsa and Ana Frango Elétrico.

Pedro Fonte

Pedro Fonte is an omnipresent force in Rio de Janeiro's vanguard music scene. The drummer, composer, producer and studio owner is an integral member of Brazil's new wave, playing with many of the country's biggest artists such as Ana Frango Elétrico, Antônio Neves, Rubel and Cícero. His own albums have been met by both national and international recognition and featured on the Mr Bongo compilation Hidden Waters: Strange and Sublime Sounds of Rio de Janeiro. Pedro played at The Crypt at the end of Summer 2023 and brought the house down. There's no doubt he'll be doing the same again.
