Branch Manager Training 2026
Attend this workshop to become a Branch Manager! You will learn how to properly plant a tree and how to guide and teach others.
Attend this training to become a Tree Trust Branch Manager! Branch Managers are specially trained volunteers who guide groups of new volunteers through the tree planting process at our planting events.
We will provide all tools and training, so no previous experience is necessary. Come ready to be outside and get a little dirty as we grow the next generation of our urban forest.
We will email you a reminder two days prior to the event.
Be prepared!
🧥 Wear weather appropriate clothing that can get dirty.
🥾 Wear closed-toe shoes or boots that can get dirty.
💧 Bring a water bottle! This is hard work and it's important to stay hydrated.
☔ Prepare for any weather - we plant in the rain! Event will be cancelled or postponed in unsafe conditions (lightning, extreme temperatures, severe weather).
👀 Watch the video below to get a head start on the tree planting demonstration!
What to expect on site:
☑️ Check in at the Tree Trust tent to receive work gloves.
🧑🏫 There will be a presentation covering basic tree biology, planting best practices, and commonly encountered challenges.
🌳 You will practice planting hands-on.
Tree planting volunteers should be prepared to:
- Stand, kneel, and bend over
- Use a hand saw, shovel, and wheelbarrow
- Lift up to 20 pounds
- Walk over uneven terrain
- Have a meaningful impact on their community!
Tree Trust staff and tree experts will be on hand to supervise and answer any questions!
If you have any questions, contact us at volunteer@treetrust.org.
