TheNine Network of Public Mediais a multifaceted organization creating a network of individuals and organizations empowered by public media to strengthen civic life. One of the nation’s most watched public television stations, Nine Network offers the people of the St. Louis region multiple ways to explore the world and become engaged in civic life. Nine’s platforms include four distinct broadcast channels (Nine PBS, Nine World, Nine Create and Nine PBS KIDS®), the Nine Center for Public Engagement, the Public Media Commons, social media, and multiple websites accessible atnineNet.org. Nine Network’s rich legacy of serving the community was launched in 1954 and continues through our vision of a strong and healthy community working together through public media and our mission of igniting the spirit of possibility.

Nine Network of Public Media

<P CLASS="MsoNormal"><EM>BrainWorks</EM>, a theatrical performance and future public television series, explores the wonders of the human brain by dramatizing real-life neurological cases to reveal the science behind brain diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, brain tumors and stroke. This fascinating production is a collaboration between Washington University neurosurgeons Eric C. Leuthardt, MD, and Albert H. Kim, MD, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and the Nine Network of Public Media.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">What began in 2011 as an annual TED-style lecture series about advances in medicine became neuroscience theatre, selling out multiple performances and introducing new ways for the public to understand the human brain. Nine Network’s <A HREF="http://www.ninenet.org/blogs/nine-network-specials/brain-works/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><EM>BrainWorks</EM> production</A>—a televised one-hour special—won a Regional Emmy in 2016. Drs. Leuthardt and Kim are nationally renowned neurosurgeon scientists and hosts of the <A HREF="https://www.barnesjewish.org/The-Brain-Coffee-Podcast" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Brain Coffee Podcast</A>.</P>
