The future of sustainable living!
This prefabricated home, inspired by passive house principles and methods is redefining what climate-resilient design can achieve.
This project intentionally pushes the boundaries of design and climate resilience. From a 33,000-gallon rainwater-harvesting system to a landscape built to regenerate soil and habitat, every detail of this property showcases the incredible possibilities when innovation meets environmental stewardship.
Guests will be able to view the home at multiple stages of construction - intended to be built in three phases, the third building will have just arrived and been installed. A wall construction section model has been generously built and provided by BC Passive House and Cascadia Windows & Doors.
The open house will begin at 4 pm and we'll have snacks and warm drinks to keep folks warm and energized.
At 5pm we'll hear from the all-star, all-women team leading this revolutionary project, including the visionary owner, award-winning Architect Julie Kriegh, Chuckanut Builders, and Passive House Northwest. They will share how cutting-edge building science, low-carbon materials, and regenerative practices came together to create this remarkable net-zero, fire-resistant home.

PROJECT OWNER STATEMENT
For nearly two decades, the owner has focused on tackling climate change through various work, volunteer, philanthropic and investing opportunities. She has long wanted to build a net-zero energy home that demonstrated sustainable design. After working on a report on soil carbon sequestration, she began looking for a plot of land where she could implement some of these regenerative practices, while also creating a space for family to gather. When she discovered this Bow plot, that had unfortunately been clearcut by its previous owner, it felt like the perfect place for her to rehabilitate the ecosystem and rebuild soil organic matter while building a sustainable and climate-resilient home.
