This event is led by barista and artist Tikvah at Commonplace Coffee Mexican War Streets.
Your ticket includes light refreshments, artist instruction, and supplies.
This is a beginner and intermediate workshop. However, there is unlimited room for creativity, so it is accessible and enjoyable for artists of every level. Attendees will:
- Recieve an Intro about what India ink is, its origin, and use
- Learn from example pieces created by Tikvah
- Create 2-3 paintings
- Bring in their own flowers or leaves for ink painting and printing (optional)
Tikvah shares, "Painting with India ink is therapeutic and leaves room for self expression, which is the antithesis of depression. I hope that all attendees leave with a more regulated nervous system and pieces of art they enjoyed making and looking at. The goal is not for mastery or a certain result, but for enjoyment and a space for joy and lightness in an often intense and emotionally exhausting world."
