Description

Come learn about the Boston Smart Utilities program - an interdepartmental initiative led by the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) aimed toward developing strategies for more sustainable, resilient, equitable, and innovative utility services in the City of Boston.

We will focus on the two implementation tools of our program:

(1) The Smart Utilities Policy for Article 80 Development Review

(2) The Smart Utility Standards

We will also go over how to use the Smart Utilities Checklist to submit the requested information during the Article 80 Development Review process.

This bootcamp is tailored to Real Estate Developers, Permitting Consultants, Architects, and Engineers who currently are or will be undergoing the BPDA Article 80 Development Review process.

This session will cover the same information that was covered in the April 25 Smart Utilities Bootcamp, with the exception that different members of the Smart Utilities Steering Committee (SUSC) will be available for Q&A as listed below.

Wed May 29 - 9am-10:30am

  • Katie Choe - Public Works Department - Chief Engineer/Director of Construction Management
  • Amy Cording - Public Improvement Commission - Chief Engineer
  • Irene McSweeney - Boston Water and Sewer Commission - Director of Construction
  • John ("Tad") Read - BPDA - Sr. Deputy Director for Transportation & Infrastructure Planning
  • Brad Swing - Mayor's Office of Environment, Energy, and Open Space - Director of Energy Policy and Programs
