About this event

UPDATE 5/3/2024: Tomorrow's meeting (5/4/2024) has been cancelled, as our facilitator is unable to attend. We apologize for the late notice but look forward to seeing you all in 2 weeks!

Join Grey Havens Philosophy and our international community of participants online every first and third Saturday at 11:00 a.m. (Mountain Time, North America) for storytime and book discussion! Open to ages 6 - 10.

Each week, a facilitator reads aloud from an old or new classic of children's literature. Then, in an age-appropriate way, we discuss the big ideas raised by the reading. It's a book group of your child's very own! Note that meetings might end early if there is low attendance.

Discussions are based in the Philosophy for Children (or P4C) method. Discussing big ideas at an early age has been demonstrated to have social, emotional, cognitive, and academic benefits. It's also a lot of fun! P4C helps kids do better in school, make better decisions for themselves, and prepares them to participate in democracy. For more information, visit p4c.com/about-p4c/benefits-of-p4c/.

Discussions take place via Zoom. Registration is free, but donations are appreciated to keep our programming accessible to all. To protect everyone’s privacy and well-being online, registration prior to the event is required. You are welcome to listen and/or participate via audio and video or audio only.

Organized by

Grey Havens Philosophy is a Colorado nonprofit that teaches people of all generations to think critically and creatively through philosophy. Starting at age 3, we teach people how to think, not what to think! We host in-person and online discussions for kids and adults on a variety of topics, from the concept of Death to our favorite Star Trek episodes.
