<p>We will be launching "The Slave Owner's Daughter." </p><p>Raised in the lap of luxury on a Virginia plantation, fourteen year old Matilda, is the spoiled eldest daughter of Colonel John Hampton and his wife, Elizabeth. One Saturday morning, Colonel Hampton takes Matilda along to attend a slave auction where he decides to purchase Zeke, a strapping teen, as an early birthday present for Matilda.For months, Matilda watches Zeke from afar as he labored carrying tobacco bales and helping the elderly slave “aunties” to complete their daily chores.Matilda was raised to believe that negroes had been cursed by God. She couldn’t bear it as she realizes she has feelings for Zeke. Will her feelings survive even as she competes against the prescribed life expected of a teen girl in the pre-Revolutionary War society.<br></p>
