Alma Zaragoza-Petty (IG: @thedoczp) celebrates the birth of her book Chingona: Owning Your Inner Badass for Healing and Justice in her birthday month! 🦂🎉 🥳 Think book/birthday party, meets comunidad, meets Latinx house party vibes!
Alma wants to celebrate this accomplishment with friends, family, kids, older youth, las tías/aunties, señoras and her local comunidad. ALL are welcomed! The event will run from 12-5pm PT and include música, food vendors, sponsors and partners that are Black or WOC-owned and a woman-led author discussion with special guest Arielle Estoria at 1pm!
Join us for a celebration of the release of a book that tackles intergenerational trauma and healing. General admission is free, or for $25 you can also secure a pre-ordered copy of Chingona from Reparations Club, California's premiere queer Black-owned bookshop, which you can pick up at the event and have signed by Alma. For $50, receive admission, a pre-ordered book, and access to a VIP experience [cafecito/kaffeeklatsch & writing workshop/Q&A] before the event. Alma will be donating proceeds from the VIP ticket sales to ScholarMatch, a nonprofit supporting low-income-background first-generation college students primarily from the LA and Bay areas.
