About this event

Join us the last Sunday of each month after the Sunday Celebration, both in-person and on Zoom, to explore together books by New Thought authors and teachers and other writers on spirituality. Key ideas from the books will be highlighted and discussed to encourage deeper understanding and application to life. Classics of Religious Science and the New Thought movement will be included, as well as books on spiritual enrichment that enhance the understanding of Science of Mind principles and practices, such as metaphysical Bible and spiritual intelligence. Everyone is welcome, whether you have read the book or not. You can always listen and share in the way that is perfect for you. It's a wonderful way to support your spiritual growth!

The central principle of the teaching of Religious Science is the immanence of God. God is an eternal and everlasting essence. - Ernest Holmes in What Religious Science Teaches

In fall 2022, we will begin discussing What Religious Science Teaches, by Ernest Holmes, a short but richly detailed book in which Holmes highlights profound ideas from the great spiritual texts of the world that he brought together into the Religious Science teaching. With ideas from Emerson and Troward to Hermeticism, the Upanishads, the Kabala, Taoism, the Bible, and the Talmud, a beautiful picture of the multi-faceted and practical spiritual teaching of Religious Science will come together to enhance your understanding and application of it for all your life experiences.

We are a New Thought church united with Centers for Spiritual Living (csl.org) serving Chicagoland and beyond through in-person activities and online Zoom sessions.

Oak Park Church of Religious Science (opcrs.com) welcomes all friends -- regardless of race, creed, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Visitors to the area are always encouraged to drop in.

We teach, inspire, and encourage the practice of Unconditional Love; dedicating ourselves to the belief that all is Love, all is Law, all is Good, and all is God.

We aspire to create a world where love is the normal standard in business, in politics, and in relationships. We see this vision accomplished one person at a time, one thought at a time, beginning with oneself. Our measure of success involves having more good, more joy, and more friendship in your life than you had the day before.

We offer a full array of energizing classes and fun activities every month; which can be found on our personal website's (opcrs.com) calendar section. No one will ever be turned away for lack of funds. We are here to encourage you and your most cherished dreams. We see the very best in you and are honored to have you join us whenever your schedule allows.
