Sarah Vanhee is a Belgian artist, performer and author who makes work that is politically and socially engaged. Herwork has been presented widely internationally in diverse formats and contexts She's currently developingbodies of knowledgeas an alternative platform for knowledge exchange between people of all kinds. bodies of knowledge (BOK) is a place for people to learn from each other. Things one usually does not learn, told by voices who are not always heard, from different parts of society and the world. In BOK we try to exchange knowledge that nurtures a more just and humane society. It’s a room for listening, questioning, connecting. BOK welcomes life experts rather than professional authorities. On 26 August, we'll have our first learning day in St John’s Gardens. We hope you'll be there.

17:00 - A double take on (mental) health issues in young people, by young people. By Maham and Ahmed.
18:00 - Female empowerment: pushing your limits - a crash course in self defence. By Ravi.
19:00 - The importance of quiet in modern day living. By Isabelle. 
20:00 - "KNOW THY ABC...": a (g)local history lesson - framed around letters of the alphabet - aiming to provide new readings of Manchester's cosmopolitan character. By Dominique. 
21:00 - End of the learning-day
BOK is a safe and respectful place for learning from each other. Friends and family are welcome and there will be child-care (till 6pm)
The learning day is free to attend and there's no need to reserve a ticket.
