Join us for a special evening of art, film and live performance at The Box Factory to celebrate the opening of Annika Rhea's multi-media art exhibit, BODY MEDIUM, curated by Javier Alvarez, Kiera Stuart and Annika Rhea.
Hosted by David Miller, Annika Rhea and The Box Factory.
BODY MEDIUM explores the cross between visual art, performance art and video art. The exhibit allows guests a view of the artist's process with exhibited process films, photographs and paintings. The evening will include a live performance by the artist in collaboration with musicians Mehmet Aydin, GROOOVYBLOSSOM and Daisy Press.
At the conclusion of the performance, the canvas created will be auctioned off to benefit The Rema Hort Mann Foundation, a charitable foundation that gives quality of life grants to cancer patients and supports emerging artists.

Annika Rhea is a movement artist and immersive action painter based in Brooklyn, NY. She is the creator of BODY MEDIUM dance-painting, a technique that uses the body in motion as a paintbrush and the canvas as a stage. Rhea is inspired by the relationship between color, motion, rhythm and emotion. Her abstract expressionist paintings are an imprint of a performance, allowing an otherwise fleeting art form to take on new life as visual art.
