Who should attend Board Connect?

Anyone curious about making a difference through nonprofit board service. Whether you're a first-timer, mid-career professional, retiree, or seasoned board member, this event is for you. No résumé or prior experience required—just a desire to help.

Is this only for people with leadership titles or nonprofit experience?

Not at all. Board Connect is open to all backgrounds. We believe leadership shows up in many ways—through life experience, compassion, and a willingness to contribute. You don’t need a specific title or professional background to make an impact.

Do I need to stay the entire time (4–7 PM)?

Nope! Drop in when you can. The format is open-house style, so you’re welcome to arrive anytime and explore at your own pace.

What should I bring?

Just yourself! No résumé or formal prep needed—this is about real conversations, not interviews. Business cards are optional. Bring curiosity, an open heart, and a willingness to learn—especially if you're new to board service.

Will I be expected to sign up for a board on the spot?

No pressure at all. Board Connect is about exploring possibilities, asking questions, and discovering what feels like the right fit. If something clicks, great. If not, you’ll still walk away with new insights and connections.

What types of nonprofits will be there?

You’ll meet a wide range of organizations working in areas like education, the arts, health, environment, housing, youth development, and more. The goal is to help you find a cause that resonates with you.

How much does it cost to attend?

It’s completely free for all board seekers.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely! Invite anyone who’s curious about contributing to their community. This is a welcoming, no-pressure space.
