WHO THIS CLINIC IS FOR

You’ve been mountain biking long enough to be comfortable on singletrack trails. You know how to shift and brake and are comfortable at a trail area like Betasso. You want to get better at getting up, over and down natural trail features like rocks, roots and logs.

DESCRIPTION

Living in Colorado, it seems we’re always going up or downhill. In this clinic for more experienced riders, you will continue to find ways to improve your riding. We will spend the beginning of the class reviewing Foundation skills and then apply these skills to navigating up and down rock features in West Magnolia in Nederland.

  • Navigate roots, logs, and rocks in both directions
  • Perform wheel lifts for clearing obstacles
  • Apply climbing and descending techniques
  • Roll down large drops and land air-off drops
  • Dismount while climbing or descending

This is an intermediate class.

Maximum 6 students. No matter how you ride your bike, you're about to ride it better!

Clinic meets at the Observatory trailhead at West Magnolia (39.9468157,-105.518013). From the Peak to Peak highway, turn west at Magnolia road and follow Haul Rd for 1 mile. The parking lot will be on the left.

Start Time: 5:30 pm (please be there at 5:15 pm to allow ample prep time)

Organized by

The Boulder Mountainbike Alliance's mission is to serve as a positive voice for mountain biking in Boulder County, Colorado by improving the trail experience for all users through social rides and events, advocacy, and trail building. Great communities build trails, and great trails build community.

To fulfill this mission, the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance works towards three major goals:• Create a Community of Mountain Bikers• Advocate for Trail Access• Build and Maintain Trails

The Boulder Mountainbike Alliance has a renewed emphasis to increase the number of trails in Boulder city and county, but more importantly, building a community that embraces mountain biking as a viable passive recreational activity that creates community, engages youth & beginners, and builds a new constituency of environmental stewards.

BMA has developed developed community events as part of a strategic initiative to raise both awareness of their good work and much needed resources to fund the heavy lift of advocacy, trail development and outreach programs.
