You&#x27;ve probably heard something about Bitcoin, Libra, and the blockchain. But how well do you know what&#x27;s going on under the hood and what makes different digital currencies unique? While it&#x27;s not necessary to have a deep understanding of modulus math or encryption algorithms to understand why blockchain is important, having a sound grasp on how the technology works is necessary for crafting a sensible regulatory regime around this emerging industry.Join Engine, the Coin Center, and the Blockchain Association at 11 am next Thursday, November 7th, for the first panel in our blockchain education series. We&#x27;ll be walking through core concepts about how digital assets and distributed ledger technologies work, focusing on topics including:<ul><li>How do digital assets differ from real assets?</li><li>What are the different types of digital assets out there?</li><li>Where do blockchains actually come from?</li><li>How are blockchains secured?</li><li>How do blockchain networks come to agreement?</li><li>How are blockchain ecosystems governed?</li></ul>  Panelists include:<ul><li>Peter Van Valkenburgh, Coin Center</li><li>Jason Somensatto, 0x</li><li>Kristin Smith, The Blockchain Association</li></ul>The panel will take place in Room 401 of the Cannon House Office Building. Lunch from Mason Dixie Biscuit Company will be provided.
