Block Printing Card Making Class

The Farm at South Mountain is only 10 minutes from Downtown Phoenix, located in the heart of the Farm District. The Farm offers a nearby escape from the city with canopies of pecan trees and 10 acres of grass lawns. The Farm is home organic gardens, three award-winning restaurants, an art gallery, craft shop and health & wellness retreat.

Saturday October 28th 2:00-4:00pm                                                                                                              Botanica Ramada                                                                                                                                                       $40.00 including a set of 8 cards
In this two hour class, students will be printing a set of eight blank notecards by hand. Students will work through the printmaking process by first drawing an image on a block, then carving into the block to create a relief print. Once these steps are complete, students will use their block to print a set of eight blank kraft paper notecards by hand. Students will leave with their very own set of notecards as well as their hand-carved printing block. The cards measure 4.25” x 5.5” and students will have the choice of printing with either white or black ink. If time permits, students may complete a second design on the back of their block.

Where will this class be located?
Located at the end of the Grove under the Ramada just at the end of the lane.
 
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
All Ages welcome, although the agenda is geared for adults
 
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The Farm has parking at the end of the lane or across 32nd street.
 
What can I bring into the event?
Please wear shoes for walking, Clothing appropriate for outdoor weather, Insect repelant is recommended as the event will be outdoors. Please no outside food or beverages as The Farm has restaurants on property. Water bottles, OK. Bug Spray Recommended.
