Immerse yourself in the world of artistic expression with Noctiluna's unique class on designing, carving, and printing with a block! Join us for a hands-on experience where you'll discover the intricacies of block printing, from conceptualizing designs to carving them onto a block. Unleash your creativity as you bring your vision to life, and walk away with a personalized tote bag showcasing your own printed masterpiece. Whether you're a seasoned artist or exploring printmaking for the first time, this class promises a creative journey filled with learning and a tangible, wearable piece of art to take home!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Chitra Sharma is a printmaker who hand screen prints and block prints clothes for babies and kids under her label, Noctiluna. Her aim is to keep producing products that are both ethically made and long lasting, that bring joy to people. As a part of Noctiluna's slow fashion ethos, Chitra is particularly interested in finding ways for people to reuse, repurpose and upcycle their existing belongings.

Yes! We are excited for any little aspiring makers to join us in the DIY classes, but we do ask that if your little is under 13 they are accompanied by an adult. Please know that some of our classes use sharp, hot, or otherwise hazardous tools for children’s use.
Yes! To substitute the event wine, we have a selection of local non-alcoholic options. Including canned coffee, assorted mocktails, water, or lemonade. Please let an associate know if you require a non-alcoholic option.
Our alcohol license prohibits the consumption of outside alcohol in our class area. Alcoholic and beverages are available for purchase at our Union Market and Wharf stores. Non-Alcoholic options are also available at Union Market, Wharf, and Old Town stores. Georgetown does not have drinks available
For a full refund to your original payment method, attendees must reach out to the Event Coordinator for a refund 3 days in advance of the class. If after 3 days before the event, a credit to your Eventbrite account will be given.
If an event is postponed, rescheduled, or cancelled, you will receive an email from the Event Coordinator to inform you of your refund options. If there is another upcoming class with the same instructor, you can also choose to transfer your ticket to a new date.
Our Wharf, Union Market, Old Town Alexandria, and Charlottesville locations are all wheelchair accessible for the class area. Our Georgetown location has a class area on the second floor that requires going up flights of stairs, so it is not as easily accessible.
Yes! Our Shop Made gift cards can be used for classes, you will just need to contact the location directly to have the card processed in our system and we can manually enter you into the Eventbrite backend.
Nope! Teachers and Shop Made provide all class materials unless otherwise stated in the class description.
