Christopher Everett is the director and producer of Wilmington on Fire. His award-winning film has screened at several film festivals and universities including the 2015 Cucalorus Film Festival, 2016 North Carolina Black Film Festival, and 2017 Pan African Film Festival. Known for her iconic roles of Maxine Shaw (Living Single), Detective Latoya (Get Out), Perenna (Black Lightning), Cousin Pam (The Cosby Show) and Linda Diggs (Wu-Tang: An American Saga), Erika wears many hats, including actress, entrepreneur, creator, producer and trailblazing activist -- an all-around boss. In 1898 in Wilmington, NC, an armed mob of Democrat-backed white supremacists opened fire on thriving middle-class African-American neighborhoods, slaughtering hundreds and exiling thousands out of the city for good. Now, using rare photographs, original research, and testimonies from the descendants of the victims, the truth is finally revealed on how the Wilmington Massacre became the springboard for white supremacy and Jim Crow throughout the United States, and how the devastation still affects Black American life to this day.
