Bling Hack: An Upcycle Workshop

Upcycle Parts Shop is the leader in sustainable art and craft supplies in Cleveland.We are a non-profit dedicated to provoking creativity and promoting community through reuse.We operate a unique storefront where people can donate used art + craft supplies, as well as shop for the same items at a very low cost. We serve thousands of participants each year by supplying materials to creative endeavors through this retail shop, leading engaging programming, and building community in Cleveland's St. Clair community that we call home.We shine a light on the potential of everything around us. To us, upcycling and “creative reuse” is about believing in the value of materials already in our hands and homes, and the joy of sparking thoughtful creativity within our community and the self.Together, we have diverted over 27 tons of waste from the landfill since opening in 2014 and we are grateful to our community of donors and patrons for helping us createless waste & more art!

Upcycle Parts Shop

Join us for our BLING HACK workshop where we will take apart, tie together, wire up, string through, and creatively upcycle old and broken jewelry into freshly redesigned accessories you get to take home for yourself!  In this workshop you'll choose from a large selection of necklaces, beads, brooches, and baubles to take apart and make into new pieces. We'll show you how to make a few necklace styles we love as well as a pair of earrings, and you can explore and design on your own, too. Tools, findings, instruction, and take-apart jewelry are all provided!
We've reserved a private room inside the lovely Deagan's Kitchen + Bar in Lakewood where you’ll spend three hours eating, drinking, learning, making, and laughing with other cool folks who are curious about upcycling. In addition to an all-access pass to our collection of bling hack necessities and instruction in essential jewelry-making techniques, your ticket includes 1 drink (select beers or your favorite soda) and some light snacks. You'll also have the option to order yourself more food and drinks off the full menu if you’d like. As always, we provide creative cheerleading, moral support, and high fives free of charge.
If you’ve ever said out loud, “I’m not creative”, come and let us convince you otherwise (we’re pretty good at it). If you consider yourself a crafting pro, you’ll relish in the opportunity to get your hands on our epic collection of upcycle-able jewelry materials. We’ve got something for everyone and we’re excited to meet you wherever you’re at.
