Bleeding Gums is a coming-of-age piece of theatre written by an A-Level Drama student, about grief, love, and trying to survive in a world that isn’t yours. Owen moved to London with his girlfriend Daisy, chasing drama school, stage lights, and the kind of romance that makes life feel like it could last forever. In an unfamiliar environment, they found comfort in the familiarity of each other. However, when Daisy tragically loses her life in a matter of moments, the world carries on. For Owen, the stage went dark, and he was left with the kind of loss that doesn’t fit into a diary entry. As he navigates the stages of grief in a world that doesn’t slow down, Owen drags the audience through a series of intimate diary entries, surreal flashbacks, and absurdly ordinary moments - from raw phone calls to meals alone. Part confessional, part memory, the show explores love, loss, and the messy ways we try to keep living when everything familiar has disappeared. Get your tissues ready.
