The Black Community has been traumatized in America since landing on these shores in the 1600's. The 400 years of legislation has codified the "ism" and placed the "Black Experience in a Box". Inside that "box' heinous and egregious acts have been perpetrated on the "Black Community" leaving it beleaguered, yet, resilient.It is in that space of being beleaguered & resilient; where it becomes necessary to remember, recall, pay tribute to and ultimately acknowledge the victims of wanton butcheries. So, this event ask's you to connect to those who have come before us and who have paid the ultimate price for their "BLACKNESS"...All are welcome in connection, meditation & hope...

Mission:A lawful gathering to remember, and acknowledge &quot;Black Souls&quot; who have been extinguished in America since the 1600’s due to the color of their skin. (Social Distance &amp; masks are required)Who: All are invited, who can meditate/be still for an internal remembrance of those who have perished since the inception of America.What:A meditation, a stand, sit(bring chair) for thirty minutes(30) from 7:00pm - 7:30pm. You will be provided (5) items a candle, sanitizer, matches, a sharpie and a sheet of paper (mission/remembrance page).***Remembrance page, you will write the name of the person or event that you are remembering on the back of the Mission/Remembrance PageWhere:On Ocean Avenue. West Side of the Street, along the perimeter of Prospect Park, corner of Flatbush Avenue. Where where Ocean Avenue meets Flatbush Avenue.(Opposite the Botanical Gardens entrance-Opposite Wendy). participants will stand six(8) feet apart running the length of Ocean Ave.Why:Medger Evers, Emmit Till, MLK, Sandra Bland, Philandro Castille, Eric Garner, Ahmaud Aubery , Brenna Taylor, George Floyd, 4081 lynchings from 1870-1950, Tulsa Riots, Colfax Massacrepages &amp; pages of history, years and years of death...When:Juneteenth Day 6/19/2020 7:00pm to 7:30pm promptly*Juneteenth Day is a day which is rarely mentioned but one all should be educated about.Special:At the end of the remembrance, you will exchange your (remembrance page/name) with a stranger(observing social distance) hence you have the wipes.6:30pm would be a time for participants to go to the intake desk where they would receive the package.Package consists of: candle, matches, hand wipes, magic marker, mission statement=remembrance page/nameParticipants would receive their spots, first come first spot(eight feet apart) which are pre-marked with &quot;blue tape&quot;This is a half hour meditation/introspection so as much as we love children this needs a specific attention spam, my apologies for those who this offends.As a Follow up, at the intake table from 6:30pm to 7:00pm when people pick up their package &quot;Strange Fruit&quot; will be playing in loop recorded by various artist...Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Diana RossFrom 7:30pm to 7:45pm as we cool down. &quot;A Change Gonna Come&quot; will play in a loop with various artist Sam Cooke, Brian Owen &amp; his father Thomas Owen, Otis Redding &amp; Brian Owen and Michael Mcdonald.
