About this event

Rodney Thomas of Chicago will join the Black Leaders Collective by Zoom to lead a restorative healing session called: Liberated Leadership, Part II. The session will be held in two parts on Friday, February 18 and Saturday, February 19.

To be a leader in our current context, we must first grapple with our beliefs about the very notion of how we see and experience oppression, based on individual identity and life experiences. Oppression hurts us all, no matter where we are in the social order. Oppression creates “traumatic experiences” which are “stored in the body and shape our perceptions and world views in profound ways” (Tarakali 2011). This workshop will support you in identifying your core beliefs and values for how you experience the world and engage through this lens, create space for collective healing and relationship building, and identify practical steps for collective action.

Practical Outcomes

* Explore what it means to lead for equity, given my identity, life experiences, and role.

* Articulate our Collective WHY as a team.

* Identify practical steps for moving forward and taking collective action.
