Epic Office Hours is a series of lighting speed mentoring sessions with serial entrepreneurs, corporate executives and investors. Attendees will receive a curated schedule of meetings based on various factors including stage and industry. This is an opportunity to connect with your local entrepreneurial community and receive valuable feedback on your venture. Startups with Black Founders will be given priority for selection.

Immerse yourself in a thought-provoking keynote address, exploring the transformative journey of a prominent figure in tech, Oluseun Taiwo is the Co-Founder and CEO of Solideon. He co-founded the company with zero funding or employees in mid 2022. Fast forward to today, they are a team of 10+, have raised $5M+ and are building the technology that is actively building the highway between earth and the solar system. Oluseun is highly passionately curious about using technology to uplift ALL of humanity and not some of it.

In the wake of the George Floyd movement, there was a surge in support for black founders and venture capitalists. Just three years later, much of that energy and commitment has disappeared, and, in many cases, it has been replaced by direct antagonism towards DEI and any initiative aimed at creating more opportunities for black and brown people.

During this event, we will explore how we overcome the challenging dynamics for investors  of diversity-focused funds and diverse founders finding it harder to secure investments? The fact that lawsuits  like the Fearless Fund case may become more common, continue to thrive despite the  shift in support for diversity in corporate and education? How do we move forward as a community in an authentic way? 

You’ll hear from Austin community ecosystem leaders  on navigating this new landscape, creating unique approaches to succeeding as an entrepreneur, as an investor, as a tech worker and as a student in this challenging the anti-DEI movement.
