This year's themes will enable campers to learn about Gaming, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Climate, workplace skills, and mental health practices.

For participants aged 11-18
Camps will run all day, Monday through Friday (no weekends). No sessions on Juneteenth (Wednesday, June 19).

Campers will:

  • get to meet industry experts who will come speak about their work
  • receive breakfast and lunch every day of camp
  • learn wellness and mental health practices through ongoing sessions
  • make new friends!

Campers will learn the basics of AI and take on the role of prompt engineers to create their own imaginative scenarios related to climate change. These scenarios can depict either utopian or dystopian futures, offering campers an opportunity to explore environmental issues creatively. Using their AI-generated images, campers will then develop their own Afrofuturist mini-game centered around a sustainability topic of their choosing. In addition to coding workshops, they will engage with industry experts across the science and technology industries, and take part in confidence-building workshops and wellness sessions focused on mental health.

Campers will leave with a comprehensive understanding of STEAM careers and potential paths they can explore, technical and coding skills tied to the camp themes, and the confidence and interpersonal skills needed to thrive in their future workplaces.
