About this event

  • 3 hours

This two mile gourmet hike focusing on local and seasonal foods starts at Independent Fermentations (IndieFerm) Brewing with a charcuterie/cheese cup. You'll hike through the woods, stopping at four additional locations: oysters by the abandoned boat and cranberry bog; smoked trout pate at the Gilbert Trout Hatchery and Horse Rescue; a culinary experience with local Celebrity Chef Stephen Coe (who beat Bobby Flay) at Russell Mill Pond; and cream puffs with strawberry drizzle for dessert at the cabin-in-the-woods. All food and one drink are included with the ticket price. There will also be a cash bar at the Russell Mill Pond location featuring IndieFerm beer and kombucha and local wine. This is a fundraiser for Black Feather Horse Rescue's 20th anniversary which is owned by Darlene Nickerson. In addition to the horses at the rescue, you'll get to meet llamas, goats, donkeys, mini-horses, chickens, Barnabus the pig and his little sidekick. Darlene also owns and operates the Gilbert Trout Hatchery which is the oldest trout hatchery in the state. Just like any other hike through the woods, there will be bugs, mud, and uneven terrain so please wear appropriate clothing including sturdy footwear.

Organized by

IndieFerm Brewing - A small craft brewery in Plymouth specializing in Belgian and German styles using locally sourced ingredients.  We also make delicious healthful kombucha and we have a homebrewing supply store and hop farm.
