Join us on June 29, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Erma Hayman House to learn about the creative journey and purpose of the Idaho Black Community Alliance's Black Excellence Gala from the visionary minds who created it, Trish Walker and Shari Baber.

The 2023 Black Excellence Gala was the inspiration for the Erma Hayman House's current exhibition, Afro Blue: An Ode, Celebration, and Meditation. Created in partnership with the Idaho Black Community Alliance, and featuring the photography of Boise-based artist Gracieux Baraka, this exhibition showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Black community in Idaho.

The Creators' Talk is a ticketed event with pre-registration required. Meal tickets include appetizers from Flats, Fats, and Fries - A Wingery and Sweetz Dipped Treats. Please be advised: chicken wing sauces and fries may contain dairy, seeds, and/or gluten.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. This event includes a presentation from Trish and Shari, followed by a brief audience Q&A.
