On Monday, April 8, 2024, between 3:13 and 3:17, the solar eclipse crosses the Cleveland area and the rest of Ohio between 3:13 and - 3:15 p.m., bringing nearly four minutes of darkness followed by the moon’s shadow.
Join Black Environmental Leaders in partnership with Intercity Yacht Club and Global Shapers Cleveland Hub for a Solar Eclipse Party from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Intercity Yacht Club Observation Deck.
Feel free to bring a folding chair and brown bag lunch. Light refreshments will be provided.
Entry and Parking
It is highly recommended that everyone car pools. Parking is free for BEL guests. Please print your ticket and place it in the front window or have digital tickets available for entry at the gate.
Eclipse Party Events
1:00 pm, Arrival Begins - Guests arrive, get eclipse glasses and enjoy light refreshments.
2:00 pm, Partial. Eclipse begins -The moment when the moon touches the edge of the Sun is called First Contact.
3:13 pm, Totality Begins - The moment the edge of the Moon covers all of the Sun is called Second Contact.
3:15 pm, Maximum Eclipse - The deepest point of the eclipse with the Sun most hidden.
3:17 pm, Totality Ends - The moment the edge of the Moon exposes the Sun is called Third Contact.
4:30 pm, Partial Eclipse Ends - The moment the edge of the Moon leaves the edge of the Sun is called Fourth Contact
5:00 pm, BEL Solar Eclipse Party Ends
