HOC’s 20th anniversary Black Party: an elevated day party that turns into night. Art, fashion, music. All-Black everything.
In 2006, it started in a living room: a house party where everyone wore black.
Then came The Blackprint at the NC Museum of Life and Science. Then Distinguished, a black tie gala at the JB Duke Hotel.
Now, for year twenty, Heart of the City is blacking out the sun.
Black Eclipse XX: The Art of Black is an elevated day party that turns into night. Doors open at golden hour, and as the sun sets, we go into totality: a celebration of art, fashion, music, and 20 years of the Black Party.
What to expect
- A golden-hour start that builds to the “total eclipse” moment at sunset
- DJs spinning hip-hop and R&B from 2006 to now
- Hors d’oeuvres and sweet boards
- A 20-year tribute featuring photos from Black Parties past
- Photo moments and best-dressed recognition
- VIP sections with custom menu pre-order
Dress code: All Black. Fashion-forward and elevated. Come dressed for the occasion.
Giving back: part of this year’s celebration supports The Real HBCU College Tour.
