Meet the speaker!
Katie Martin is the statewide deer, bear, and turkey biologist for the VA Department of Wildlife Resources. In this role she works within the Forest Wildlife Program, alongside the project leaders, to implement management programs for these three iconic big game species. Katie works extensively with human-wildlife conflict, research, and population monitoring and surveys across these programs. She has been with the Department of Wildlife Resources for 15 years, serving as a district wildlife biologist in the southern Piedmont prior to her current role. Katie earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Virginia Tech in Wildlife Science and Forestry.
