Black Bear Half Marathon Training Program: A 10-week half marathon training program for beginners and intermediate runners
Interested in running a half marathon, but don’t know where to start? This 10-week half marathon training program is the perfect program for you! Join us Monday evenings and Saturday mornings at the Jus’ Running store for a group run geared towards beginner and intermediate runners. This is an all-paces welcome program put on by Jus’ Running with an emphasis on providing a safe, encouraging, and judgment free environment for newer runners and those who are looking to build up to the half marathon distance. It’s our mission to empower you, and we’ll do so with resources, support, and tips from our expert staff. Registration required, join us in reaching new goals in the Fall of 2026!
Who: This program is geared towards newer runners and those who are looking to build up to the half marathon distance.
Dates: This is a 10 week program -- Monday evenings from 6:15pm-7:15pm and Saturday mornings start at 7:30am and will last no longer than 9:30am (we will start with around 45 minutes and adjust weekly as we build up our long runs). Start date is August 3, end date is Saturday, October 10, 2026 with the Black Bear Half Marathon on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
Where: Mondays at 6:15pm - meet in the Jus’ Running parking lot, 523 Merrimon Ave. The running route will follow the greenway that runs adjacent to W.T. Weaver Boulevard and connects to the Reed Creek Greenway off of Broadway Street. Saturdays at 7:30am - meet in the Jus’ Running parking lot, 523 Merrimon Ave, running route will adjust as long runs develop over time.
What to Expect: Mondays: 30 minute run with other runners, led by Jus’ Running staff members with a 30 minute educational session before or after the run depending on the week's schedule. Saturdays: 45 minute - 120 minute run with other runners, led by Jus’ Running staff members, will adjust as long runs develop over time.

- Before July 13, 2026 | 10-Week Half Marathon Program: $190 registration fee + Eventbrite fees (you must register online, no in-person registration).
- Before August 3, 2026 | 10-Week Half Marathon Program: $225 registration fee + Eventbrite fees (you must register online, no in-person registration).

Black Bear Half Marathon:
The 10 week program concludes the week of the Black Bear Half Marathon. Participants will be setup with the training and information needed in order to run the race at the end of the program. Registration for the Black Bear Half Marathon is optional but highly encouraged! Participants will be given a discount code to register. Cancellations by Jus' Running: A minimum of 5 registrants is required in order for the program to be held. Participants will receive an email confirming the start of the program. If the program does not reach 5 minimum participants, current registrants will be notified prior to the start date and will be refunded through Eventbrite.
