Q: What kind of ‘training’ is being offered?

Accepted Answer

A: A  virtual 2-day training 4-hours per day  the concepts of cesarean section and VBAC are thoroughly taught under the topics of anatomy/physiology, mental health, racial disparities, doula support, resources and awesome teaching supports to promote knowledge, values and skills

Q: Can white birthworkers take this training?

Accepted Answer

A: Yes. There are many instances where Black and BIPOC families do not have access to birth workers and birth support who represents them. White birth workers are welcome so long as they understand the training is focused on Black maternal health & BIPOC people, whites will not be highlighted here.

Question 3

Q: Are there any scholarships offered in the training?

Accepted Answer

A: No scholarships are being offered. However, groups of five (5) tickets or more will receive a $25 per seat discount.  For any organization that will sponsor the training for their employees/community please contact blackwomendovbac@gmail.com for more information.

Is this training relative for PostPartum Doulas?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Understanding what occurs in a surgical birth and VBAC is imperative to the successful support a postpartum doula can provide. Postpartum doulas are welcomed!
