About this event

  • 2 hours

Learn the best techniques for photographing birds and other wildlife and explore some of the best locations to shoot with photographer, Bill Golden.

The timing should be just right to capture the cedar waxwings enjoying serviceberries in the courtyard. We’ll begin with an instructional presentation in the art gallery, followed by a walk through the Preserve to put your newfound skills to the test.

This class is best suited for those with DSLR, mirrorless, or bridge cameras.

Please bring a notebook and water and wear comfortable closed-toed shoes.

No dogs please.

Meet in the art gallery at the Visitor’s Center.

In the event of rain, the walk may be canceled or postponed; you will be notified via email by 5 pm the day prior.

Max: 20 people.

Rockefeller State Park Preserve was created through several farsighted and generous gifts to the State of New York by the Rockefeller Family since 1983. It is designated as a “park-preserve” to highlight and protect its natural, historical, and cultural values. Its network of carriage trails wind through scenic forests, fields, and wetlands, which provide important habitat for native plants and wildlife.

The Preserve Office and Gallery are open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and are located at 125 Phelps Way, Pleasantville, N.Y. 10570.
