Hands-on tutorials to help build skills required in Precision Child Health, data science and bioinformatics. The training is prepared for staff and trainees at SickKids and beyond by the Centre for Computational Medicine (CCM).

This is a hybrid event offered both in-person and online.

Topics include:

  • Python Classes and Objects
  • Data Tables in Pandas
  • Genomics Data in Hail and Pysam Packages

This 1-hr presentation will introduce useful Python objects and classes to help create, load, and manipulate data related to biomedical research. Specifically, the presentation will focus on introducing pandas and help participants become familiar with pandas-specific terminologies. The presentation will also highlight two genomic-specific libraries, Hail and Pysam. We encourage you to bring your laptop to practice data analysis steps under our guidance.
