The Mobile STEaM Lab presents one of its standout programs backed by the esteemed University of Pennsylvania, BIOEYES! (Age Req. 10-12 yr)
Bioeyes offers a cutting-edge curriculum that merges hands-on exploration with authentic scientific inquiry. Your child takes part in an experiment working with scientists' number one choice for researching genetic diseases, zebrafish. Observe their embryological development, see a beating heart and bloodflow in real time, utilize stereo microscopes and other lab equipment, and have a blast while doing it! Visit themobilesteamlab.org for more details.
Our program works with live zebrafish, engaging in activities that range from mating the fish to observing the development of embryos under microscopes. Witnessing the transformation of embryos into clear, free-swimming larvae with beating hearts provides a firsthand glimpse into the wonders of cell biology and Mendelian genetics.
This exemplary science curriculum serves as a comprehensive introduction to fundamental concepts while instilling a deep appreciation for the scientific method. Join us in exploring the marvels of biology and genetics with Bioeyes!
Note: Our program consists of five weekly classes (BIOEYES 1-5) designed to engage students in hands-on scientific exploration and discovery. We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the first three weeks of our program. Once these initial weeks are filled, we will announce the opening of registration for the remaining weeks of the program.
