Nearly 500 animals call Potter Park Zoo home, including critically endangered black rhinos, Amur tigers, and endangered red pandas, Massasauga rattlesnake and snow leopard. The zoo is located in Lansing, Michigan and is open 364 days a year.As an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and participant in its Species Survival Plan (SSP) programs, we are committed to the preservation of endangered animals and are actively developing strategies that will help protect species and preserve their wild habitats. Join Potter Park Zoo for a BioBlitz! Join staff as we survey the local environment along the Lansing River Trail.

<p>Potter Park Zoo is hosting our first ever BioBlitz! Community members are invited to come together for a guided walk along the Lansing River Trail to find and document as many species as possible using smartphones.  Individuals, families, and small groups are guided by staff to survey the local environment and record the diversity of life we find.  Enjoy a walk in nature and contribute to citizen science at the same time! No experience needed. </p>
